Sequoia’s Rest in Peace Presentation

December 12th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Management, Venture Capital

Sequoia Capital is one of the leading venture capital firms.  They were early investors in firms like Apple, Cisco, and Oracle among others.  In early October 2008, Sequoia Capital conducted a webinar for the CEOs of their portfolio companies.  The title of the webinar was “R.I.P. Good Times”.  While the presentation was supposed to be for just Sequoia portfolio companies it soon leaked out to the Internet.

The presentation was a bellweather event for the technology marketplace.  It signaled the recognition that our current economic situation was dire andthat it was going to last for a very long time.  The presentation provides a concise and compelling summary of how our current economic crisis evolved and what are the grim recommendations Sequioa has for their portfolio companies.
